It all began with a great vision and an even greater passion. Joe Gold, US Marine and bodybuilder decided to open a gym exclusively for hardcore lifters and fitness enthusiasts to give the community a second home and a place to train their big muscles. In 1965 his first gym was built in Venice, California – a simple hall, constructed with cement, filled with equipment that Joe built himself using old junk. Within a very short time, Gold‘s Gym Venice became the Mecca of Bodybuilding, the symbol of a new body culture and a place where the elite of the bodybuilding scene such as Arnold Schwarzenegger, Lou Ferrigno and Dave Draper met to lift huge dumbbells. With the help of the 70‘s cult film „Pumping Iron“, the bodybuilding and fitness boom has now spread worldwide. Gold’s Gym became the epicenter of a new worldwide fitness movement. Bodybuilding became more accessible to millions of sports enthusiasts worldwide and Gold’s Gym developed into what it is today: an icon.

OFFICIAL channel of the legendary bodybuilder - ROBBY ROBINSON - THE BLACK PRINCE - 1st Mr. Olympia Master, Mr. World, Mr. Universe Known worldwide as The Black Prince, Robby Robinson began training at 12, thanks to TV's Jack La Lanne, and by 15 he was a high school football and track star. He competed in over 300 amateur events and in 1975 moved to the Mecca of Bodybuilding - Venice, California. Robby Robinson's philosophy is that the body is a gift which can be molded into a beautiful piece of art if fed and trained properly. His weights "the paintbrushes" have helped him achieve a body so chiseled it resembles a sculpture. Now, at 60+ and back in Venice, Robby still trains with an intensity that's clearly evident in his DVDS and YOUTUBE videos. He encourages a healthy approach to the practice of bodybuilding, to creating the ultimate art through proper training and nutrition.
